WORST JOBS REPORT OF THE YEAR, JOB CREATORS NETWORK REACTS
Today, the U.S. Department of Labor released its monthly jobs report. The US economy added 194,000 jobs in September. The unemployment rate fell from 5.2% to 4.8%. The labor force participation rate was little changed at 61.6% in September and has remained within a narrow range of 61.4% to 61.7% since June 2020. Notable job gains occurred in leisure and hospitality, in professional and business services, in retail trade, and in transportation and warehousing.
Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:
“This was the worst jobs report of the year, and a clear indictment of President Biden’s failed policies. Even the termination of Biden’s overly-generous unemployment benefits – which kept workers on the sidelines for almost half a year – failed to stimulate job growth because Biden’s agenda is wrecking small businesses. Higher taxes, vaccine mandates, record spending triggering rapid inflation – this is all part of Biden’s ‘War on Small Business.’ To highlight that war – and to advance pro-growth policies as an alternative – JCN is continuing our national Bring Small Businesses Back Bus Tour. We were in South Carolina this week, and next week, we will conclude the tour with stops in Florida and Georgia.”
