POLITICO Ad: JCN Calls Teamsters Union President “Cryin’ O’Brien”
Washington, D.C. (July 11, 2023)—Today, the Job Creators Network (JCN) took out a full-page ad in POLITICO calling out Teamsters Union President Sean O’Brien. The ad comes as the union leader is butting heads with the United Parcel Service (UPS), Yellow, and TForce—a scuffle which could lead to a strike and a supply chain shutdown. Both will have severe consequences for the small business community.
Unlike large corporations that can operate their own logistics and shipping operations, small businesses depend on trucking and logistics companies to reach their customers. Headlined “Cryin’ O’Brien” the ad criticizes the union leader for his childlike temper tantrum that is threatening Main Street. See the ad here or below.
The POLITICO full-page ad is part of a larger campaign highlighting the threat to small businesses. The initiative also includes the corresponding website CryinOBrien.com that houses a new comical video arguing O’Brien is putting his ego over the wellbeing of Main Street. It ends with the tagline, “Cryin’ O’Brien needs to grow up” and portrays the union leader as a crying baby. Watch the video here.
Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:
“Small businesses are already fighting an uphill battle given elevated inflation and the threat of higher taxes and more government red tape. The last thing Main Street needs is for Sean ‘Cryin’’ O’Brien to have a temper tantrum and pick a fight with trucking and delivery companies. Small businesses rely on these package carriers to get their products to customers. Severing that supply chain will not only have consequences for small businesses and their employees but it would have a chilling effect on the larger U.S. economy.”
