Job Creators Network Slams Michigan Democrats for Eliminating Right to Work

“Michiganders are less free and have fewer economic opportunities due to this week’s elimination of Right to Work, which allows employees to choose whether or not to join a union. Michigan employees now have no choice but to belong and pay dues to unions that often do not share their political values. The loss of major employers to nearby Right to Work states such as Indiana will reduce job opportunities and economic development in the state. According to the American Legislative Exchange Council, Michigan experienced a 6.4% increase in manufacturing employment between 2013 and 2018, while manufacturing employment in non-Right-to-Work states fell over that timeframe. By repealing Right to Work, Michigan Democrats will destroy many of these good job opportunities and force employees to give up part of their hard-earned paychecks to unions they oppose.”
