Job Creators Network Highlights the Grave Threat H.R. 1 Poses to Freedom of Speech and Election Rights

“H.R. 1 is a two-part attack on American founding ideals, undermining Americans’ freedom of speech and election rights. This bill is nothing more than a Democrat Party power-grab. By federalizing elections and attacking the privacy rights of donors to political causes, H.R. 1 would make it easier for Democrats to implement their far-left, anti-small business vision over the will of the American people. They know they can’t gain broad support for their fringe ideas by persuasion under the political status quo, so they are trying to change the rules of the game to sneak their agenda past ordinary Americans. By mandating ballot harvesting and “canceling” political donors to disfavored causes, they can secure political outcomes they’d never be able to in a free marketplace of ideas and in free and fair elections. H.R. 1 is a grave threat to American democracy and founding ideals, and members of Congress interested in protecting these must fiercely oppose it from becoming law.”
