Job Creators Network Calls Biden’s Russia Energy Ban “Only Half the Solution”

Washington, DC (March 8, 2022) – Today, President Biden banned imports of Russian energy. Last week, the Job Creators Network (JCN) erected a billboard in the heart of Times Square and published an op-ed calling on President Biden to ban Russian oil and increase domestic energy production. The billboard features an image of Vladimir Putin. The billboard’s headline reads, “HEY VLAD. SCREW YOU! NYET TO RUSSIAN OIL. TIME FOR AMERICAN OIL.”  And it concludes, “Drill More, Pay Less. C’Mon Joe. This ain’t hard.” The billboard continues to run.  
 
Alfredo Ortiz, JCN President and CEO, released the following statement:    
     
“We’re pleased that President Biden is listening to JCN and others who have been calling for a Russian oil ban since the early days of this crisis.  However, banning Russian oil is only Step One.  Step Two is increasing production of American oil.  That’s the message JCN promoted in the Times Square billboard that we erected last week and that continues to run.  Even before the Russia crisis, energy prices were steadily rising throughout Biden’s presidency, and the reason is simple: Biden’s restrictions on domestic energy production, including killing the Keystone Pipeline.  We’ve gone from energy independence to energy dependence in a single year, thanks to Biden – and the inflationary consequences are disastrous to small businesses and ordinary Americans. Banning Russian energy is only half the solution.  We need to take Step One and Step Two. The decision is up to Joe Biden, but he refuses to show the necessary leadership because he’s more afraid of his left-wing base than Vladimir Putin.”
