Job Creators Network Applauds Virginia Senate for Passing Amendment Revoking School Mask Mandate

Washington, DC – (February 9, 2022) — On Tuesday, the Virginia Senate passed an amendment ending the statewide mandate requiring students to wear masks in the classroom.  The bill still requires a final vote in the Senate and the Virginia House of Delegates. Gov. Glenn Youngkin says he will sign the bill.

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

“This is the latest example of how Republican Governors are leading while the Biden Administration and the Democrats in Congress are failing.  In the first days of his administration, Governor Youngkin demanded an end to the statewide mandate requiring masks in schools. Now, the Virginia Senate is taking action, advancing legislation to end the mandate. It’s time to end the Covid mandates at the state, local, and federal levels.  Parents are ready to move on. Small businesses are ready to move on.  Our communities and our economy will be able to get on the road to normalcy once these mandates are on the dustbin of history.”
