Supreme Court Strikes Down Biden Administration’s Student Loan Bailout

Elaine Parker, president of Job Creators Network Foundation, released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling today striking down the Biden administration’s student loan forgiveness program:

“This is a great victory for Job Creators Network Foundation, the Constitution, and the American people. We brought this case on behalf of two plaintiffs, and we’re pleased the ruling stops one of the most egregious examples of executive overreach in modern American history. It sets the stage for long overdue bipartisan action to address the underlying reason for the student debt crisis: unaccountable colleges that have raised tuition by more than double the inflation rate over the last generation. Recent legislation introduced by Senate Republicans helps get to the root of the problem by imposing student loan transparency and eliminating inflationary Graduate PLUS loans, but more needs to be done.

“JCNF’s lawsuit played an integral role in today’s victory. Our case, brought in Texas, blocked the entire program at the district level and stopped the application process, allowing the legal challenge to go to the Supreme Court. We are all winners today that this illegal program has been struck down. JCNF looks forward to driving the conversation around meaningful higher education reform to address the root cause of this crisis and make college affordable.”
