New Times Square Billboard: Elite Pete Says “Let Them Drive Electric Cars”

Washington, D.C. (July 22, 2022)—Today, the Job Creators Network (JCN) put up a billboard in the heart of Times Square calling out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for suggesting Americans should just buy electric cars to avoid high gas prices. According to Kelly Blue Book, the average price of a new electric vehicle is roughly $67,000.

The billboard features a picture of Pete Buttigieg with a king’s crown and scepter accompanied by the headline, “PAIN AT THE PUMP?” The ad continues with, “ELITE PETE SAYS, ‘LET THEM DRIVE ELECTRIC CARS!’” View the billboard here or below:

Alfredo Ortiz, JCN President and CEO, released the following statement:

“As Americans face high gas prices, the Biden administration continues to play the blame game—arguing that financial headaches at the pump are a result of the war in Ukraine and ‘greedy’ gas station owners, rather than their own drilling-hesitant energy policies. Now, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is going a step further and belittling the problem as a mere inconvenience that can be avoided by simply buying an electric car. Perhaps Elite Pete should get off his throne to experience how the average American lives.”
