Job Creators Network Urges the House Education and Workforce Committee Pass Chairwoman Fox and Rep. Burgess Owens’ Substitute to H.R. 6591, the College Cost Reduction Act

In anticipation of the House Education and Workforce Committee Markup of H.R.  6591, the College Cost Reduction Act, Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of Job Creators Network’ Issued the following statement in support of the passage of Chairwoman Fox Representative Burgess Owens’ Substitute to that legislation.

“Job Creators Network applauds Chairwoman Fox, Representative Burgess Owens, and the Committee for marking up this important legislation that would take a positive step forward in addressing the student loan crisis that is hurting millions of students and their families every day. This bill would stop the Biden Administration’s bailouts of universities and colleges, which keep raising tuition rates even though they are sitting on over $800 billion in endowments. Most importantly, it would ensure colleges have skin in the game by holding them financially responsible when they charge too much for degrees that leave students with debt they cannot afford. It also would inject needed transparency into the student loan process that would empower students and families. Job Creators Network urges the Committee to vote in favor of this important legislation.”
