Job Creators Network Condemns Speaker McCarthy’s Ouster

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement in response to Speaker McCarthy’s ouster at the hands of eight Republicans led by Rep. Matt Gaetz:

“Rather than coming together and passing commonsense legislation to fight back against Democrats, a few House Republicans led by Matt Gaetz have chosen civil war, voting with Democrats to oust Speaker McCarthy. This move will only empower Democrats and their big government agenda. Any policy difference among Republicans is nothing compared to the stark contrasts in worldviews between Republicans and Democrats. House Republicans under Speaker McCarthy were reining in reckless spending and providing real oversight, yet a few Republicans have decided to throw away future policy victories over demands that have no chance of becoming law in a divided Congress.

“Rather than showing Americans a positive governing agenda that can help expand their majority and take back the Senate next year, House Republicans have shown independent Americans they can’t get out of their own way to address the biggest problems facing the country. This gives Democrats yet another advantage heading into next year, posing an even greater threat to the country’s future. By asking for more, these eight Republicans will end up getting conservatives far less.”
