“Virtually all of the usual Democrat critics of today’s proposed tax cuts predictably ignore reality.  Senator Schumer, however, did leave open the possibility of common ground when he agreed small businesses should get a tax cut. In the Republicans’ plan, middle class and small businesses– the backbone of the American economy – are getting strong tax rate cuts and Democrats will be on the wrong side of history if they fail to join with Republicans and give small businesses the break they need.  Surely their constituents – the vast majority of whom stand to benefit – will hold them accountable for any partisan opposition at the ballot box. The Democratic Party should heed President John F. Kennedy, who cut taxes for everyone understanding that ‘a rising tide lifts all boats.'”
