Michigan Manufacturer Warns Against Right to Work Repeal

Jackson, MI: Brian Cooper, President of Wire Wizard Welding Products and member of Job Creators Network, released the following statement on Michigan’s legislation to repeal Right to Work:

“The Michigan Legislature’s attempt to repeal the state’s Right to Work law on partisan lines threatens the state’s economy at the worst possible time. It would destroy a significant competitive advantage Michigan has over nearby Ohio and Illinois in the battle for business creation and expansion. It would accelerate the outflow of business activity from the state that is needed to get the economy out of its precarious situation. Forced unionization is a failed idea unsuited for the 21st-century workforce. It fails to hold unions accountable for not delivering for their members and forbids employee autonomy and advancement in the workplace. It raises costs for businesses and erodes already slim profit margins. This repeal legislation is nothing more than payback for Big Labor campaign contributions, enriching those who enrich the politicians.”
