Main Street Supports Republican Healthcare Solutions
Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement in response to Senate votes on health policy on Thursday:
“Main Street has arguably been the biggest victim of Obamacare and its inflationary and burdensome regulations. On behalf of small businesses nationwide, JCN commends Senate Republicans for voting on pro-consumer, pro-market alternatives to the failing status quo to reduce costs and increase choices for entrepreneurs and employees. While Democrats will block any legislation that chips away at the failing Obamacare edifice, Republicans’ effort is still important to show voters that they are the party of healthcare innovations and solutions.
“Democrats’ competing approach — a three-year clean extension of expanded Obamacare subsidies — would only exacerbate American healthcare’s problems. By transferring even more money from taxpayers to big insurance companies, the Democrats’ plan would further increase costs, enriching insurers at the expense of patients, employers, and taxpayers. One key healthcare solution that both parties should support is association health plans, which allow small businesses and employees to group together to negotiate cheaper, better, and more personalized coverage. Main Street needs real solutions now, not more sacrifices to the Obamacare altar.”
Alfredo Ortiz and Grover Norquist have an op-ed explaining the benefits of association health plans in the Washington Examiner this week.
