Jobs Report is a Good Closing Argument for GOP Heading into Election, says Job Creators Network
Washington, D.C. (November 2, 2018) — Americans who are still undecided about which party should control Congress have over 4.3 million reasons to vote Republican on Tuesday, which represents the number of jobs created since Donald Trump took office, said the Job Creators Network (JCN) in response to another better-than-expected jobs report, released today.
“The endurance of the Trump economy is incredible, considering the marathon of economic growth we’ve experienced over the last year that has brought the labor market to near full-employment,” said JCN President and CEO Alfredo Ortiz. “Small businesses are flourishing, previously stagnant wages are on the rise, and essentially everyone who wants a job has one. The quality of jobs are also improving as Americans move into higher-paying positions. To help extend this economic prosperity, the Federal Reserve should refrain from any more interest rate hikes in the near future.”
According to the new data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 250,000 jobs were created in October and the unemployment rate remained at 3.7 percent, extending the 49-year low. Moreover, wages increased by 3.1 percent year-over-year—the fastest rate in 9 years–and according to new numbers from the Conference Board, consumer confidence is at an 18-year high.
“The robust economy is helping all Americans, which should play well for Republicans as we head into the midterm elections next Tuesday,” continued Ortiz. “Voters have a clear choice to make. Do they want to extend and build off this economic prosperity or return to an economy with anemic growth? The choice should be clear.”
