Job Creators Network Statement on Trump’s Order to Federalize Law Enforcement in Washington
Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement in response to President Trump’s Executive Order today to federalize law enforcement in Washington, DC:
“President Trump’s move to federalize law enforcement in Washington, DC, is a lifeline for many District small businesses that have been among the biggest victims of high crime, rampant drug use, and public disorder. These aren’t just public safety issues, they’re economic threats that strike at the heart of small business vitality. When streets are unsafe, customers stay home, employees feel threatened, and the cost of doing business increases. From retail theft and vandalism to reduced foot traffic and higher insurance premiums, entrepreneurs pay a heavy price for lawlessness and anti-social behavior.
“According to JCN polling, 81% of small businesses say crime has increased or stayed the same in their area. These small businesses need a safe, clean, and orderly environment to survive and thrive. Leaders at every level of government must prioritize restoring public safety, because a strong Main Street depends on it. DC small businesses are thankful President Trump is stepping up and taking matters into his own hands.”
