Job Creators Network Slams House Democrats for Passage of H.R. 4, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act

Washington, D.C. (August 24, 2021)—Today, House Democrats voted to pass H.R. 4, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

“The passage of H.R. 4 is nothing short of a federal takeover of state and local elections. H.R. 4 would usurp the power of states that attempt to ensure the integrity of their elections to partisan bureaucrats in Washington. This would be used to erode the security of our elections. No moderate Democrats stepped up to block this left-wing bill because there are no moderate Democrats left with enough spine to stand up to the radical left in their party.

The Left has built their case for this undemocratic legislation upon lies, using rhetoric like ‘Jim Crow 2.0,’ while claiming states that wish to strengthen the integrity of their elections are hurting the ability of minorities to vote. These are the same breed of lies that were used to manipulate MLB to move their All-Star Game out of Georgia after the state reformed its election laws to make it easy to vote and hard to cheat.

Job Creators Network stood up for the small businesses of Atlanta and Cobb County for the damage done by the left’s political lies about Georgia’s voting laws. We weren’t silent then, and we will not be silent now.”
