Job Creators Network Responds to April Jobs Report

Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement in response to the April jobs report, which showed 115,000 jobs added, the unemployment rate remained at 4.3%, and the labor force participation rate fell to 61.8%:

“Friday’s jobs report beat expectations again, showing the labor market is far healthier than the mainstream media suggests. Along with other recent strong labor market indicators this week, including ADP private payrolls, JOLTS, and jobless claims, the April jobs numbers show the real economy is strong — and getting stronger.

“Main Street is driving these employment gains. U.S. Census data shows small business creation is hovering at a record level, approximately 20% above the post-pandemic average. And the boom traces back directly to last July’s Republican tax cuts, which made it easier for small businesses to start, expand, and hire. According to the Small Business Administration, 12 million American small businesses got an average tax cut of over $7,000.

“While the media claims these job creation numbers are ‘a surprise,’ they in fact reflect a Main Street flourishing thanks to conservative policies. Congressional Republicans can build on these gains by passing a reconciliation bill that includes more pro-growth reforms, such as indexing capital gains taxes to inflation.”
