Job Creators Network Renews Call for Congressional Action on Association Health Plans

Washington, D.C. (May 24, 2019)—On Thursday, the U.S. House passed bipartisan legislation making it easier for employers to offer 401(k)-type accounts and for participants to convert their balances into a lifetime income.

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

This week’s bill shows that both parties can still come together to help Americans save and thrive when it comes to their retirement.  Now we need Congress to channel that same sense of urgency to address healthcare. Congress should immediately pass legislation expanding association health plans (AHP’s), reenacting the Trump Administration’s rule that was overturned by a federal judge.  Expanding AHP’s would make healthcare more affordable for business owners and their employees, and there’s no reason Democrats and Republicans can’t unite to address this common-sense issue.
