Job Creators Network Releases Statement on Port Strike
“The port strike poses a grave threat to American small businesses and the supply chains they depend on. Communities rebuilding after Hurricane Helene need goods on time and at fair prices, and this strike will reignite inflation at the worst possible time. In addition, many downstream jobs will be impacted, from truckers to auto workers, warehouse workers, and more.
“The Harris administration must intervene and invoke Taft-Hartley to get the two sides back to the bargaining table. But Harris refuses to cross her union donors she needs to win reelection. This is the exact type of extortionate bargaining power the Harris administration wants from unions, and legislation she supports called the Pro Act would make these strikes everyday occurrences.
“Harris is responsible for both the cost-of-living crisis that’s precipitating this strike and the radical pro-union rhetoric that’s led to the union’s ridiculous bargaining demands. Kamala Harris owns this strike and the associated economic consequences, which are a mere coming attraction of what’s ahead if she’s reelected.”
