Job Creators Network Reacts to Weekly Unemployment Claims Report

Washington, DC (January 14, 2021) — New data released by the Department of Labor reveals the number of first-time unemployment claims was 965,000 last week.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:

“A new wave of lockdowns is shuttering businesses and forcing more people onto the unemployment rolls. The sooner we can get people vaccinated, the sooner we can get back to normal.  That’s why JCN is calling on all Americans to get the Covid vaccine when it’s available.  It’s part of our Bring Small Business Back campaign, which is putting all elected officials on notice that small business is too big to fail.  The comments by Bernie Sanders this week are a fresh reminder that a Democrat-controlled Senate will push a left-wing agenda, including a record tax increase.  That is exactly the wrong prescription for our small business community. Before the pandemic, pro-growth policies fueled the best economy in history.  That should be the model for the next Administration.”
