Job Creators Network Reacts to Weekly Unemployment Claims Report

Washington, DC (October 15, 2020) — New data released by the Department of Labor reveals the number of first-time unemployment claims was 898,000 last week.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN)released the following statement:

“Led by President Trump and our small business community, our economy has made incredible strides since the pandemic peaked in April. To keep that momentum going, Congress needs to renew the Paycheck Protection Program as part of the next stimulus bill. The Senate will vote on such a bill next week, according to Leader McConnell.  Now we need the Democrats to stop playing games and do their part.  There is no excuse for holding a stimulus bill hostage when more than 20 million Americans remain unemployed. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the other Democrats should support the McConnell bill and do what’s right for the American people.  To spur our economy, Governors and Mayors have a role to play too. States like Florida that are opening up faster are roaring back.  States like California that are maintaining their restrictions are suffering the most.  Just ask Pelosi’s ex-hairstylist. The November election gives us a clear choice when it comes to America’s economic future: a ‘V-shaped’ recovery under President Trump or a new downturn under Joe Biden, especially if Democrats win control of both Houses of Congress. To ‘keep America America,’ we need the largest conservative turnout in history.  We will achieve that as our ‘Keep America America’ campaign ramps up, educating and motivating conservatives to do their part in the most important election of our lifetime.”
