Job Creators Network Reacts to Weekly Unemployment Claims Report
Washington, DC (September 17, 2020) — New data released by the Department of Labor reveals the number of first-time unemployment claims was 860,000 last week.
Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:
“According to recent polls, Americans trust President Trump over Joe Biden when it comes to handling the economy – and Democrats are getting ‘nervous,’ according to NBC News. They should be nervous. Just this week, the Census released new data showing historic gains for American workers and families in 2019. Median household income surged by 6.8 percent – the largest one-year increase in history – while 4.2 million Americans were lifted out of poverty, the largest poverty reduction in over 50 years. There is no question that America’s economy is ready to return to its pre-pandemic heights, led by President Trump and our small business community. To keep us on the right track, Congress should codify President Trump’s payroll tax suspension into legislation. Rep. Kevin Brady has a bill which does exactly that, saving most workers thousands of dollars. Democrats who supported a payroll tax cut during the Obama years now oppose it for political reasons. That’s why JCN is putting the pedal to the metal on our ‘Keep America America’ campaign. We are organizing the largest ‘get out the vote’ effort in conservative history so conservatives can take charge of our economic future.”
