Job Creators Network Reacts to Supreme Court Hearing on Obamacare
Washington, DC (November 10, 2020) — Today, the U.S. Supreme Court held oral arguments in a case challenging the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare). The Job Creators Network Foundation has released a seven-point framework for personalized healthcare reform called “Healthcare for You.”
Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:
“Obamacare has been a disaster for America’s small business community and our entire country. Since Obamacare was signed into law, more than 30 percent of small business owners have dropped insurance coverage for employees due to rising premiums. Since 2013, premiums for the average individual plan have increased by 123 percent, while premiums for family plans have risen by 174 percent. Half of Americans now have access to two of fewer healthcare plans on Obamacare exchanges; nearly one in five have access to one.
“If the Supreme Court overturns Obamacare, Joe Biden and the Democrats insist that those with preexisting conditions would no longer have access to healthcare. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is a consensus in both parties that we need to protect those with preexisting conditions. We don’t need Obamacare to achieve that worthy goal.
“In order to promote personalized healthcare –and protect those with preexisting conditions – the JCN Foundation launched ‘Healthcare for You,’ a seven-part framework for healthcare reform that will lower costs, provide more choices, and provide better care. ‘Healthcare for You’ was produced with the input of 25,000 Americans – the largest healthcare market research ever conducted. It’s been endorsed by Dr. Tom Price and Newt Gingrich.
“The Supreme Court’s ruling will not stop the Democrats from pushing a government takeover of our healthcare – either an immediate takeover with ‘Medicare for All’ or a gradual takeover with the ‘public option.’ The American people should be given a choice: government control of our healthcare or ‘Healthcare for You.’”
