Job Creators Network Reacts to September Jobs Report

Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement on the September jobs report, which showed 254,000 jobs were created, the unemployment rate fell to 4.1%, and the labor force participation rate stayed at 62.7%:

“The Harris administration got the jobs report it was asking for on the eve of the election after the Federal Reserve broke with longstanding tradition and cut interest rates by 50 basis points. But can Americans trust the numbers? The BLS has downwardly revised its job numbers so often that onlookers should take this report from the Harris administration with a heavy dose of salt.

“Even still, the jobs report is not all rosy. More than 40% of new jobs created were in the government or quasi-government healthcare and social services sector of the economy. Five hundred thousand more Americans are unemployed versus this time last year. And the number of multiple jobholders reached a new high as Americans struggle with the cost-of-living crisis.

“Even with a friendly Fed and unprecedented government spending, a Kamala Harris presidency would destroy the labor market and Main Street economy. In contrast to her rosy rhetoric on the campaign trail, Harris’s record is clear: she supports massive tax increases, energy regulations, and stringent environmental and labor regulations that make it hard for small businesses to hire, raise wages, and expand. It’s no surprise JCN’s latest national poll finds small business owners support Donald Trump over Harris by 30 percent.”
