Job Creators Network Reacts to Reopening of New York’s Schools

"Cuomo & Schumer Clearly Felt the Heat”

Washington, DC (August 7, 2020) — Today, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that all of New York’s school districts are cleared to reopen for in-person classes.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:

“When politicians feel the heat, they see the light. Governor Cuomo and Senator Schumer clearly felt the heat from parents who want their kids in school and businesses who’ve already borne the brunt of the lockdowns. As Schumer said: ‘If we don’t open up the schools, you’re going to hurt the economy.’ The teachers’ unions tried to extort both the city and state of New York: their bullying tactics are the big losers and students are the winners. The economy is rebounding with an encouraging jobs report today, it’s time to open schools safely so our children can learn and our economy can continue to grow.”
