Job Creators Network Reacts to Jobs Report

Washington, D.C. (March 6, 2020)— Today, the U.S. Department of Labor released its monthly jobs report.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

“In February, 273,000 jobs were created, the unemployment rate dropped to 3.5 percent, and wages grew at a 3 percent annual rate.  This is excellent news considering the impact of coronavirus, both on the U.S. economy and on our largest trading partner, China. The Fed’s decision this week to lower interest rates will further help small businesses and consumers weather the impact of this black swan event.  The resilience of the U.S. economy is a testament to President Trump’s leadership. 7.4 million jobs have been created since his election, with wages growing at twice the rate of his predecessor.  And all Americans are sharing in this prosperity, regardless of race or gender.  Last year, women filled 72 percent of all new jobs added. Wages for black employees are growing faster than those for white workers. The gap between the poverty rate for Hispanics and the overall poverty rate in the U.S. is the smallest it has ever been. The list of accomplishments is endless, and the reason is President Trump’s pro-growth policies.”
