Job Creators Network Reacts to Jobs Report
Washington, DC (December 4, 2020) — Today, the U.S. Department of Labor released its monthly jobs report.
Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:
“In November, the unemployment rate fell to 6.7 percent and 245,000 Americans regained their jobs. Small Business Saturday was a much-needed boost in November for businesses struggling from economic lockdowns and regulations. We’re also still seeing the lingering effects of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a nonpartisan success that saved 51 million jobs. Unfortunately for all those jobs saved, many states have started new lockdowns, and the possibility of national lockdown threatens to undo any of our economic recoveries. The PPP has since expired and needs action from Congress. We need Congress to do their part and pass another relief bill with a renewal of the PPP to help small businesses survive another wave of lockdowns, and keep the momentum of the economy’s recovery on path. Democrats lost seats in the House this election due to the party’s left-wing push; those who held on to their seats would do best to stand up for small businesses and renew the PPP. JCN’s latest campaign, “Operation May Day” will use multi-media tools to build grassroots support to activate voters for PPP legislation. Our message to the Democrats in Congress: ‘This is your moment to shine. Stand up for small businesses and get a PPP bill passed now!'”
