Job Creators Network Reacts to “Great” Jobs Report
Washington, DC (August 2, 2019) – Today, the U.S. Department of Labor announced that 164,000 jobs were created in July, with the unemployment rate holding steady at 3.7 percent.
Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement.
This is a great jobs report, with the 164,000 jobs being created in July exceeding expectations, labor force participation increasing, wages rising, and the unemployment rate hovering near a 50-year low. Wages rising is more evidence there is a labor shortage. We still have more jobs than people to fill them, and the skills gap continues to grow. The Trump Administration, to its credit, recognizes this problem and is expanding workforce development initiatives, including the Pledge to America’s Workers. Advancing the Administration’s pro-growth agenda is clearly the best approach for America’s job creators. Far-left policies advanced by the Democrats running for President threaten our prosperity. Additionally, we are thrilled the Fed reversed course and cut rates this week, but we strongly advocate for an additional rate cut at the next opportunity to accelerate growth even further.
