Job Creators Network Reacts to February Jobs Report
Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement in response to the February jobs report, which showed 151,000 jobs created last month, the unemployment rate rose to 4.1%, and the labor force participation rate fell to 62.4%.
“President Trump and Elon Musk’s efforts to cut federal government waste are already bearing fruit, with 10,000 wasteful federal government positions eliminated last month. Quasi-government jobs in social assistance that provide little-to-no economic benefit grew at about half the rate as under the Biden administration. Stripping out these unproductive government and quasi-government jobs, the private-sector economy, led by small businesses, showed another solid month of hiring, with real wages significantly increasing.
“As Trump articulated in his address to Congress, his policies of deregulation and energy are making it easier for small business job creators to hire and expand. According to JCN’s latest poll, small business sentiment has taken a record jump with Trump’s return to the White House. But to continue the strong American private labor market that drives the economy, small businesses need tax certainty. That means Congress must prioritize making the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent as soon as possible while expanding the provisions that help Main Street.”
