Job Creators Network Reacts to Coronavirus Rescue Package Deal

Washington, D.C. (March 25, 2020)— Today, the Trump Administration and congressional leaders reached an agreement on an emergency rescue package to keep the economy afloat during the coronavirus outbreak.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

“Job Creators Network commends President Trump and the leaders of the House and Senate for agreeing to a much-needed economic stimulus package. It is a solid first step in protecting America’s small businesses and deserves the support of employers and workers alike. This isn’t a bailout for small business and its employees; it’s a lifeline. We want to thank President Trump, Secretary Mnuchin, and especially Senators Rubio and Collins  for the hard work it took to find common ground on this important measure. As the President has said, small business is the engine of the economy and will drive us out of this crisis. We hope lawmakers in both chambers and in both parties will drop their partisan swords and pass the legislation quickly, because the need, especially for small businesses, is urgent. While the bill is a good start, more work needs to be done. JCN will continue to press for a targeted, temporary payroll tax cut for small businesses with fewer than a hundred workers. In the meantime, we urge for quick passage of the CARES Act by both chambers so our small businesses can get the help and relief they need.”
