Washington, DC (August 20, 2020) — Tonight, Joe Biden delivered his acceptance speech for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“When it comes to the economy, the contrast between Joe Biden and President Trump couldn’t be clearer. Biden is a career politician who has spent the past 48 years in Washington working to increase government power and crush the dynamism of free enterprise. As Vice President, he was part of an administration that oversaw the slowest job growth in decades and passed a healthcare reform bill that gutted our healthcare system. Now, he is running the most left-wing general election campaign in history – promising a record $4 trillion tax increase, a Green New Deal that would socialize major parts of our economy, a $15 minimum wage that would kill millions of jobs, and a government takeover of our healthcare system that would destroy the doctor-patient relationship. President Trump, by contrast, oversaw the best economy in history before the pandemic struck. As recently as six months ago, we were experiencing the lowest unemployment rate in generations, the fastest wage growth in decades (with blue-collar workers making the biggest gains), and an all-time high stock market. We will quickly return to that prosperity if America stays the course.”
