Job Creators Network Praises Senator Manchin for Standing Against $3.5 Trillion Budget
Washington, D.C. (August 11, 2021) – Today, Democrat Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia released a statement raising concerns over the consequences of passing a $3.5 trillion budget.
Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement in response:
“We’re happy to see Senator Manchin embrace the same concerns as JCN, and not turn his back on small businesses as many other Democrats have. Before running for office Joe Manchin founded a small business, so he should understand the struggles they go through as a result of reckless decisions in Washington. Now, as a politician we encourage him to continue fighting for small businesses in West Virginia and around the country by standing up against irresponsible levels of government spending.
Today’s latest Labor Department report showing a whopping 5.4 percent increase in inflation over the past year confirms our warnings throughout this year and speaks directly to Manchin’s stated concerns. Wages only rose by 4 percent, thus the ‘Biden pay cut’ is in full effect. The question now is will Joe Manchin follow through on these legitimate concerns or are his words mere lip service? As small businesses struggle to recover from the pandemic, and as our economy tries to get back to pre-Covid growth, will he be part of the solution – something he seems to be open to – or will he prolong the problem?”
