Job Creators Network Praises Senate Passage of USMCA
Washington, D.C. (January 16, 2020)— Today, the U.S. Senate passed the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) by a vote of 89-10.
Job Creators Network President Alfredo Ortiz released the following statement:
This is an incredible week for America’s small business community, which represent 98 percent of US exporters. Yesterday, President Trump signed the phase one trade agreement with China, which increases US exports to that country by $200 billion. And just now, the Senate passed the UMSCA, which updates NAFTA for the internet age and increases GDP by $68 billion. These twin achievements are a testament to President Trump’s leadership. The President wasn’t afraid to negotiate hard, despite the naysayers. The results speak for themselves, as even most Senate Democrats voted for the USMCA. Despite the Democrats’ partisan shenanigans, it’s good to see that Congress can come together and vote on smart policy that’s great for all Americans.
