Job Creators Network Praises Senate GOP for Holding Line on Infrastructure Bill
Washington, DC (July 21, 2021) — Today, Senate Republicans blocked a vote to start debate on a $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill.
Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:
“This is a big defeat for President Biden and Leader Schumer, who are trying to ram through about a trillion dollars in new spending at a time when inflation is surging. Senate Republicans held firm today, but it’s an open question whether they will continue to hold firm. There is no good reason for any Senate Republican to vote for cloture or for the final bill. Inflation is surging at the fastest pace in four decades, and that’s because Biden and the Democrats are spending money like a drunken sailor. Inflation is a growing concern for small business owners, according to the new JCN Foundation Monthly Monitor poll. Adding an extra trillion dollars in spending will be like pouring gasoline on a raging fire. Every Republican Senator must continue to hold the line and vote against the next cloture vote. They must deny Biden and Schumer the 60 votes they need to pass their disastrous bill.”
Alfredo Ortiz and economist Stephen Moore recently published an op-ed in the Chicago Tribune arguing that high inflation should spike Biden’s big spending plans. Read it HERE.
