Job Creators Network Praises New North Carolina Law Limiting Business Liability for Covid-19 Claims

Washington, DC (July 7, 2020) — North Carolina recently enacted a law that will limit businesses’ liability for claims related to Covid-19.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN)released the following statement:

“Our most important priority as a county must be giving people the confidence they need to safely reengage with society. Small businesses are eager to lead America’s economic recovery and protect their consumers, but fear over lawsuits for Covid-related ‘crimes’ is putting a wrench in our recovery. That’s why we need federal and state legislation limiting business liability for Covid-19 claims. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue; it’s common-sense. We thank North Carolina’s legislature for moving quickly on this issue, joining Iowa and Georgia as the first states to take action. We encourage other states to follow their lead and protect their small businesses and boost their economies. Additionally, Congress should pass legislation at the federal level, and JCN will keep pushing hard on that.”
