Job Creators Network Opposes Biden Rule Requiring Vaccination or Testing for 80 Million Private Sector Employees

Washington, DC (September 9, 2021) — According to media reports, President Biden will announce that all employers with 100 or more employees will be required to mandate Covid-19 vaccines or require testing at least once a week, and they’ll have to provide paid time off.  The new rule will impact over 80 million workers in the private sector.

Alfredo Ortiz, Job Creators Network President and CEO, released the following statement:

“After a year of lockdowns, President Biden is continuing his war on small businesses through more mandates.  The President and his administration are clearly going after small businesses.  The SBA defines a small business as those with 500 employees or fewer. So framing the rule as going after big businesses exclusively is dishonest and misleading. The President is trying to fundamentally alter the relationship between the private sector and the government to the latter’s advantage. It’s one thing if a private employer requires its employees to be vaccinated. It’s far different when the heavy hand of government is mandating it and requiring the employer to provide paid time off. The President continues to attack small businesses struggling to recover from Covid’s impact on the economy.”
