Job Creators Network Members Attend Trump Announcement on Health Reimbursement Accounts

Washington, DC – Today, Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of Job Creators Network (JCN) and two other JCN members will be attending President Trump’s announcement of a new rule expanding Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA’s).  HRA’s allow small business owners who can’t afford to totally cover health care expenses for their employees to cover some portion of those expenses through tax-free accounts. HRAs were largely banned by Obamacare.

“President Trump is going the extra mile to make health care more affordable for small business owners and their employees who have been disproportionally hurt by Obamacare,” said Mr. Ortiz. “Because of Obamacare’s rising costs, the portion of small businesses offering employee health insurance fell by about one-third between 2010 and 2018.  With today’s action on HRA’s, President Trump will be reversing that trend, helping about 800,000 workers (90 percent of whom work at small businesses.)  This is a significant policy change, using free-market solutions to alleviate a significant aspect of America’s healthcare crisis.  Now is the time for Congress to follow President Trump’s lead and take bipartisan action on other common-sense proposals, including expanding Association Health Plans.”

In addition to Mr. Ortiz, the JCN members attending today’s Rose Garden event are Craig Etkin, President & CEO at intelligence360 in Sugar Land, TX and David P. Hartman, Vice President of the Steamship Trade Association in Baltimore, MD.

To schedule an interview with Mr. Ortiz, Mr. Etkin, or Mr. Hartman, please RSVP to Maria Hatzikonstantinou ([email protected]); T.J. Winer (twiner@CRCstrategies); or Samantha Azzarelli ([email protected]).
