Job Creators Network Highlights CKE Restaurants’ Leading Wage-and-Hour Compliance Record under CEO Andy Puzder in Face of Biased and Faulty Activist Attack

ATLANTA – Today the Job Creators Network (JCN) is highlighting CKE Restaurants’ leading wage-and-hour compliance record under CEO Andy Puzder. According to a Bloomberg BNA analysis, Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s have the third lowest wage-and-hour violation rate among 20 major fast food restaurants. CKE Restaurants, which owns Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, has been subject to about 60 investigations across roughly 3,000 domestic stores and 75,000 employees since the start of the Obama administration. This amounts to a rate of roughly one investigation per 400 locations per year, among the lowest investigation rates among the 20 major fast food restaurants. Some of these violations were for minor protocol errors like failing to display a Labor Department poster.

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, highlighted Puzder’s record in a recent op-ed in The Hill. Read the op-ed here.

Today, the radical activist group Restaurant Opportunities Center United (ROC) released a biased and faulty survey claiming widespread wage-and-hour violations at CKE Restaurants. The survey was not conducted by a third party nor was it geographically representative. Its results run counter to the unbiased Labor Department record mentioned above. ROC has a long history of faulty surveys and bias. Past “surveys” have also relied on its network of contacts and exaggerated claims.

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

Andy Puzder’s record as CEO of CKE Restaurants is a testament to his fitness for the office of Secretary of Labor. Not only did he grow CKE from a brand valued at less than a million dollars to one valued at over a billion, but he also has one of the best wage-and-hour compliance records in the industry. His record proves he can create opportunities for jobseekers while protecting the rights of jobholders.
