Job Creators Network Condemns “Cold-Hearted Blackmail” by Congressional Dems

Washington, D.C. (March 23, 2020)— Congressional Democrats continued their gridlock of the CARES Act, the much-needed relief package to keep the economy running.  Democrats are demanding the bill include a left-wing wish list, including “unprecedented collective bargaining powers for unions,” “increased fuel emissions standards for airlines,” and “expansion of wind and solar tax credits,” according to news reports.

“What the Democrats are doing is cold-hearted blackmail. Our entire economy, and especially our small business community, need help TODAY.  The Democrats, however, are using this sense of urgency against the American people, pushing for a left-wing wish list that can easily be debated another time.  This is arguably a new low for the Democratic Party, and that’s saying a lot.  We need both parties to pass the CARES Act immediately to keep our economy running, prevent millions of job losses, and quite simply, to keep our society functioning.  Leader McConnell is doing his job. Congressional Republicans can’t give in to this. It’s using health and the economy for extortion. Risking lives and livelihoods of millions of people for pet liberal policy that has nothing to do with this crisis. Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi need to start doing their jobs NOW.”
