Job Creators Network: Committee Hearing on SALT Deduction Cap Shows Democrat Hypocrisy

Washington, DC (June 25, 2019) – Today, the House Ways and Means Committee held a hearing on one of the cornerstones of President Trump’s tax cuts – the cap on the state and local tax (SALT) deduction.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCNreleased the following statement.

Today’s hearing was Democrat hypocrisy at its worst. The Democrats are constantly slandering the Trump tax cuts as a giveaway for the rich, but they’re pushing to repeal the SALT deduction cap because their rich donors in high-tax states are feeling the pinch.  The SALT deduction forces low-tax states like Texas to subsidize big spending in high-tax states like California, which is grossly unfair.  Thanks to the SALT deduction cap, citizens in high-tax states are finally incentivized to hold their politicians accountable and demand they get their fiscal houses in order. By pushing for a $325 billion tax cut for millionaires, Democrats are reaching a new low of hypocrisy and irresponsibility.
