Job Creators Network Asks Candidates to Pledge They Won’t Repeal Tax Cuts

JCN says voters deserve to know whether candidates would claw back bonuses, raises, and extra take-home pay

Washington, DC (April 9, 2018) – The Job Creators Network (JCN) is asking every candidate for federal office to sign a pledge that they will not vote to repeal the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act if they’re elected in November.

“Every American who earns a paycheck deserves to know where the candidates stand,” said Alfredo Ortiz, JCN President and CEO. “This is the most important economic issue for millions of small businesses and their employees. We want every candidate on the record.”

JCN will send the pledge to every incumbent member of Congress starting this week. They’ll ask challengers and open-seat candidates to sign the pledge as well. The pledge is part of a larger campaign, Tax Cuts Work, aimed at educating voters on how the tax cuts are boosting small businesses and the economy. The organization will be running an ad this week thanking members of Congress who voted for the measure. Later this month it will launch a nationwide bus tour, bringing the message to local communities. The group is also collecting stories on its website from small business owners and employees about how the tax cuts have helped.

“We want candidates and voters to hear from real Americans on how the tax cuts are working,” said Ortiz. “That’s the best way to cut through the political noise and make sure Americans are getting the truth.”
