Washington, DC – (May 19, 2020) — Today, President Trump is signing an executive order that promotes regulatory reform to expedite America’s economic recovery.
This new order will direct government agencies to identify any regulations that can be temporarily waived to “promote job creation and growth.” Additionally, the order directs agencies to determine which of the 600 regulations currently halted under the national emergency should be permanently abolished. Finally, the order outlines a 10-point “Regulatory Bill of Rights” designed to give small businesses security in expanding their workforce.
“President Trump deserves tremendous credit for recognizing the importance of regulatory reform in putting Americans back to work. While the Democrats want to spend and borrow $3 trillion, the President wants to unleash the power of free enterprise, which is the only real way to get America’s economy moving again. With 36 million Americans losing their jobs because of the pandemic, we need pro-growth solutions that help entrepreneurs and small business owners, not a $3 trillion spending binge. The contrast in governing philosophies couldn’t be clearer, and President Trump is clearly taking the side of job creators and their employees, while Democrats push for bureaucracy and bankruptcy.”
