Job Creators Network Applauds Sen. Ernst’s Legislation to Restructure the Small Business Administration

Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement in response to new legislation proposed by Sen. Joni Ernst to restructure the Small Business Administration:

“Sen. Ernst’s bill is an important first step in reforming the Small Business Administration to make it more effective for American entrepreneurs. Her plan to relocate at least 30% of SBA workers at its headquarters outside Washington DC would place SBA resources closer to Main Street which the agency serves. Sen. Ernst’s proposal to bolster SBA field offices mirrors a provision in Job Creators Network’s broader plan to transform the SBA into the agency Main Street wants and needs.

“JCN has called for elevating the SBA into the Department of Main Street Commerce that would defend small business interests against bad government policy, harmonize and expand private-sector small business training efforts, and delegate loan-making to private financial institutions that specialize in this service. Taking these steps can reduce the small business failure rate from 20% to 10%, saving countless jobs and allowing many more people to live the American Dream. JCN looks forward to working with Sen. Ernst to pass these key reforms, starting with her new bill.”
