Job Creators Network Applauds President-Elect Trump’s Meeting Today With Potential Labor Secretary Andy Puzder

Puzder not only understands job creation but is a proven job creator himself as CEO of CKE Restaurants

ATLANTA – Today, Andy Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants, met again with President-Elect Donald Trump in consideration for the role of Labor Secretary. On a transition briefing call this morning, transition spokesman Jason Miller said Puzder “has a really good handle on what the PE is trying to do to improve the economy. He’s someone who has been a success at a number of different levels. He is a job creator and understands what we need to do to get our economy moving for everybody.” Miller also said that Puzder is a “very talented man with a very strong background.” Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

Andy Puzder’s meeting with President-Elect Donald Trump again today signifies that he is a leading contender for the role of Labor Secretary, something that all 85 million small business owners and employees in the country should be excited about. His understanding of how labor regulations prevent small businesses from hiring and thriving would be a welcome relief to American job creators who have suffered under this Labor Department’s regulatory agenda that has included the overtime rule, persuader rule, and blacklisting rule – to name a few. He not only understands job creation, but is a proven job creator himself, with 3,000 restaurant franchises in the country that collectively employ over 75,000 people. He would be an ideal pick to reverse the years of overzealous regulation from current Labor Department bureaucrats and spur job creation, economic growth, and increased wages. This election put a proven job creator in the White House. Now it’s time for the president-elect to double-down on his jobs mandate by putting a proven job creator like Andy Puzder at the helm of the Labor Department.
