JCN Statement on President Trump’s Speech on Border Security

Alfredo Ortiz, JCN President and CEO, released the following statement:

The President made it clear tonight he takes the crisis at the border seriously and understands his primary directive to ensure the safety and security of the American people. The immigration crisis involves drug trafficking, gun trafficking and human trafficking – all of which have already inflicted pain on our citizens and continue to threaten our country. Many of the Democrats have already voted for border security, in fact ten times the amount the President is asking for, which is less than one percent of the entire federal budget and a small price to pay to secure the border and protect our people. The President laid out the stakes tonight, clearly and emphatically. We support his efforts and hope the Democrats will join him in providing meaningful border security for the sake of all Americans.
