JCN Slams President Biden’s Economic Remarks as Dishonest and Intentionally Misleading

Washington, DC (June 3, 2022)—Today, President Joe Biden delivered a speech on the economy following the release of the May jobs report.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of Job Creators Network (JCN), issued the following statement in response:

“President Joe ‘The Buck Stops Here’ Biden was hellbent on passing the buck to anyone but himself at his press conference today. Joe’s speech on the economy was downright dishonest, misleading, and meant to make ‘do nothing’ Joe look like he’s hard at work. That just isn’t true. Biden tried taking credit for beating covid, claiming it was his administration’s action while ignoring Operation Warp Speed of the previous administration.

“But by far the most egregiously misleading claim from Biden was that ‘more Americans feel financially comfortable’ now than any time since 2013, according to a new Federal Reserve Survey. While the results of the survey are accurate, Biden intentionally left out that the findings were reflective of Americans’ views from October 29 through November 22, 2021. Biden also conflated the responses of those saying they are doing ‘okay’ with those who are ‘comfortable,’ when in reality only 39% say they’re doing ‘okay’ with 16% finding it ‘difficult to get by.’ This is a shameful attempt by the President to make it seem like Americans approve of the current economy by dishonestly playing off seven-month-old data as a reflection of Americans views today. We have the highest inflation in over 40 years and gas prices have more than doubled since the time Biden took office. We all see it, despite what Biden may think.

“Biden also repeated his misleading claim that he created a ‘record 8.7 million jobs,’ ignoring the reality that the pandemic and lockdowns lead to 22 million lost jobs. Jobs are coming back in spite of Biden, not because of him. We’re still 822,000 jobs below pre-pandemic levels, there’s nothing for Biden to pat himself on the back for. In our recent billboard we called out Biden for his multitude of failures, today Biden tried to pass off his failures as successes, but it won’t fool us. We’ll continue to say ’thanks for nothing, Joe.'”
