JCN Reacts to Ford Shutting EV Plant in Michigan
Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement on this morning’s news that Ford is shutting down its F-150 Lightning EV plant in Dearborn for the rest of the year:
“Ford’s decision to shut down its electric vehicle plant in Dearborn for the remainder of the year is a gut-punch to Michigan workers and the state economy heading into the holiday season. This shutdown is a direct result of the Biden-Harris administration’s unworkable EV mandate that requires two-thirds of new passenger automobiles to be electric by 2032.
“The American public isn’t buying what Biden-Harris is forcing American automakers into selling. EVs are piling up on dealer lots, as Americans prefer conventional vehicles for a variety of reasons. Every Michigander negatively affected by this plant closure — and the broader EV market turmoil to come — should remember the true culprit is the Biden-Harris administration and their anti-American mandate.”
The Keep America America Action Fund, a project of JCN, placed billboards in Detroit and Grand Rapids reminding voters that EV mandates cost jobs.
