JCN Reacts to Bloomberg Comments About Farmers and Factory Workers
Washington, D.C. (February 17, 2020)–Recently surfaced comments made by presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg are causing a stir. He suggests that farming and factory work require less “gray matter” than modern tech jobs. Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:
Bloomberg revealed his coastal elitism by stating that you don’t have to be smart to be a farmer or a manufacturer. Bloomberg claims that tech is the height of human knowledge, when in reality it’s just as hard to run a small business like a farm or a manufacturer of industrial products. And the contributions that farmers and manufacturers make to the country are just as valuable. As a reminder two thirds of new job growth is in the hands of small businesses, many of which are farmers and manufacturers. Only someone who has never tried growing or manufacturing would demonstrate such a lack of “gray matter” by making such an ignorant comment.
