JCN Highlights Tax Policy Center Study Showing Middle-Class Pain from Build Back Better Tax Hikes

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement in response to a new report by the Tax Policy Center showing that many middle-class families would see their taxes increase due to the tax proposals in the Build Back Better Bill:

“In stark contrast to President Biden’s promise not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000, the left-wing Tax Policy Center finds that the Build Back Broke plan would indeed increase taxes on many middle-class households and ordinary small businesses. It finds 20 to 30 percent of middle-class families would see a tax increase in 2022. The report also finds that the BBB’s change to expand the state and local tax deduction (SALT) wouldn’t help middle-class households and would result in a massive tax break for the rich. Tax increases on the middle class and special tax breaks for the rich should disqualify this legislation from consideration among sensible legislators.”
