JCN Gives Credit to Sen. Joe Manchin’s Brave Opposition to Inflationary Build Back Better Bill

In response to reports that Sen. Joe Manchin may indefinitely delay the Build Back Better bill due to skyrocketing inflation, Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

“With inflation at its highest levels in over 30 years, now is not the time for $4 trillion of reckless spending in Democrats’ Build Back Broke plan that will further devalue the currency. To his credit, Sen. Manchin recognizes how this bill threatens to further worsen historic inflation and has suggested he will indefinitely delay it as a result. Sen. Manchin is commendably putting country over party with his brave stance — something that all legislators should do. Indeed, the taxing and spending in this bill would accelerate inflation by reducing investment and exacerbating the inflationary labor shortage and supply-chain problems. I’ve been warning about high inflation under a Biden presidency since the beginning of his term, and it’s about time that this concern be shared across the political spectrum. More moderate Democrats should follow Sen. Manchin’s lead and speak out against this inflationary bill.”
